  3. Hello everyone, I didn't see a lot of demand for some of the items so I've dropped some prices & am giving a heads up to fellow austinreefclub members that I'm going to post these on a couple of other forums in a couple of days (want to make sure you get first dibs in case you missed it on the first go round) Still available are: (see original post for pics & notes) Korallin C1502 Calcium Reactor with Eheim Pump, Dual Guage CO2 Regulator Deluxe, & ~3/4 Gallon Media - Now $375 135g Reef Ready Oceanic with black stand & ~20g Tidepool II Sump - Now $350 I have 2 of these: PFO 400 Watt Single HQI Metal Halide Ballast & PFO HQI 400 Watt Metal Halide Mini Pendant (Double-Ended) - Now $175 each - Probably needs new bulb Blueline 175W Ballast + Reflector & Mogul Socket - Now $100 - Bulb was used for about 3 months & has good life left. I think it's 14k or 20k, not sure I'll keep this thread updated when items sell & please, no low-ballers. I'm not in a hurry to sell & believe these prices are fair. Cheers
  4. Protein Skimmer & Eheim 1262 Pump are sold. Everything else is still available. I'm in Leander. Ciao
  5. Yes, I used the 1262 with the skimmer after originally purchasing the Mag 7 in a package like this. Unfortunately the Mag 7 wasn't powerful enough to make it skim properly so I changed over to the 1262. I'd probably sell them as a pair for $325.

  7. Sold btw, how do you edit a post on this forum? I've searched all over & can't seem to find an Edit Post option. (I see that I can edit a reply but don't see how to edit the original post...) Thanks
  8. Delta Star 1/3 HP AquaLogic chiller $415 I bought this used last July and never set it up but I tested it today to make sure it works fine and it does. Rated for 175 to 275 gallons You'll need a pump that has a "Flow (gpm) Min/Max: 10/20" I used a small 30 gal tub for the test to see how quickly and far it would pull the temp down and here's a graph of what my test showed: Ambient temperature was about 70F and I stopped once the water got down to around 40F. I put my Kill-A-Watt on the unit & it pulled between 435 and 450 Watts... Local pickup in Leander (evenings or weekend) or will meet in Round Rock area during the day. Thanks, Mark
  9. Thanks for the update Karen. If she stays hidden I'd use a baster to put food into the hole she's in (she prefers water-borne food). Sounds good Dena. If the anemone winds up not making it in the next couple of weeks, send your address & I'll mail a refund... The Chromis is yours for free & I'm glad to hear that he'll be with others if his kind. Oh, and I'm good friends with Broke... Q: "How much does it cost to have a marine aquarium?" A: "All of it" I'll PM my contact info. Thanks, Mark FYI: Free damsel added to link http://eliverock.com/reef/ReefFish.htm
  10. Some prices have changed, please use the link to see the updates: http://eliverock.com/reef/ReefFish.htm Thanks, Mark
  11. 4R00P3R, as mentioned per e-mail, you have dibbs on the goby and the Dragonet is still pending. SoonerFan, you have good taste in football teams (same as me, born/bred) but I'm going to defer the Mandarin to 4R00P3R unless I get an offer from someone with a very well established monstro tank (i.e. 300g). I understand that the live rock is fully seeded but the "setting up" portion is a bit of a concern for this awesome fish. Sorry... oh, and OU > Mizzou... Not currently. I will be selling it within a month or so but have some travelling to do before I'll have time to set pricing. Watch for it here. Ciao
  12. Hi, I'm getting rid of my 135g after a couple of years (thanks to a huge aiptasia problem and a calc reactor malfunction/bleaching event) and will post these items here for a couple of days before posting on other forums: I live in Leander and will screen all potential buyers because I care about the well-being of these fish. (Priority will go to best living conditions & not first PM) Note: All fish should be quarantined. I don't have ick or another diseases that I know of in the tank but I don't want to be responsible for your problems. Here's a link to a page with larger/more pics: http://eliverock.com/reef/ReefFish.htm Green Bubble Tip Anemone: $25 This anemone is fairly large even after splitting about 9 months ago (I sold the other half back then). This one has always been healthy and hasn’t shown signs of stress (i.e. closing up or moving around the tank) ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………… Green Chromis: $10 He’s been living in my 135g for over 2 years and is the sole survivor of the original 4. He’s always been the dominant one of the group and although he/she’s not a bully, he’s not afraid of his larger neighbors so he’ll probably do well in well-established community tanks. He’s probably 2-3 inches and this pic really doesn’t do justice to what is a good looking chromis specimen . ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………… Green Clown Goby: $8 This clown started out in a 12g Nano and was moved to the 30g fuge quite some time ago. He’d probably be quite happy in a nano. Here he is making a cameo in a pick from October 2006 http://eliverock.com/mar/z_brn1.jpg ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………… Coral Beauty Angel: $25 This angel has lived with us for over 2 years. It’s a pretty fish and the pics don’t do justice but that’s because it’s a very sly fish that doesn’t appreciate cameras. This is probably one of the “smartest” fish I’ve ever had. It’s very curious and aware of what is going on and I don’t look forward to trying to catch it. He explores my entire 135g tank and I’d suggest that he move to a tank in that range or larger. ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………… Longnose Hawkfish: $35 This guy has been with me for at least 6 months and has fortunately never shown an interest in my live shrimp (I’ve even had some relatively small peppermints and he stayed away). He likes to pick out shrimp bits from the frozen cubes (i.e. emerald entrée) and does not show an interest in flakes or pellets so he’ll need to be fed some kind of small frozen food… If you’ve never had a Hawkfish you’re missing out on a great personality. Tank size should be at least ~50g although I’ll give buying precedence to someone with a very large tank (150+) because he’ll appreciate it. ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………… Male Green Mandarin Dragonet: $30 This guy eats frozen bloodworms. How often have you heard about a mandarin living in a tank for over a year? Exactly… This one started living with us on 8/26/2006 and has proven to be a healthy specimen probably through a combination of eating pods from the tank and chowing down on the bloodworms that I feed daily. I believe he also eats mysis shrimp out of frozen cubes. Established 125g minimum. Certainly there’s someone out there with a monstrous (300g +) tank that is interested in this guy. ? ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………… 2 mated Pajama Cardinals: $30 These will only be sold as a pair because they mate often. It seems like the male is holding eggs every month and I’m surprised he hasn’t starved after so many mating sessions and so little time in between. The pair has been in my tank since ~September of ’05 and probably started mating 6 months later. I’d suggest a ~46g minimum. Here are a couple of pics from October 2005: http://eliverock.com/mar/2005_10_26_PajamaKardinal1.jpg & http://eliverock.com/mar/2005_10_26_PajamaKardinal2.jpg (They’re obviously much bigger now…) ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………… Sailfin Tang: $45 He’s probably 4” to 5” and I’d guess he’s been with me for about 12-18 months. He’s the dominant fish in the tank although I’ve only noticed him aggressively going after food and not charging other fish. He uses every square inch of my 135g and will need to go into a 150+ tank, preferably MUCH larger for long term living. PM me here & I'll send my phone #. Thanks, Mark
  13. [sOLD!] The anemone split over a month ago and I FINALLY caught this one that has been hiding out behind some capricornis... It's medium in size and has been very healthy (eating well). I may wind up selling the other anemone in the future if it causes too much trouble with other corals. If you're thinking of buying an anemone, buy one from a captive split to help put less demand on wild ones. $30 I'm in Leander... Mark Will consider trade for certain sps frags
  14. I'm also near 30x turnover in the main tank and I think you'll find most people with a sandbed running a similar turnover, give or take 10x. I have some dead areas in the tank, especially back up behind some rocks and may eventually increase the number. You have to keep in mind that the powerheads have to be clean to run at their full rating... and I'm sure I dip down to 20x just before cleaning them approx. every 2 months. I'd suggest that you shoot for 40x so that you avoid adding "just one more powerhead" time and again like I did. I have 6 Maxijet 1200s and a 400gph powerhead in addition to a 900gph return pump and I really wish I would have just gone with tunze instead because of the clutter in my 135g. I guess for the upfront money, the seven powerheads were only ~$150 which is a great deal for so much gph but if you consider the energy costs, I probably would have been better off with a couple of Tunzes etc... Good luck.
