Haha. Well I don't have a powerhead anymore, but the return is the biggest concern now. Do you think I should just wait until they are larger?

The fish are in a 14gal Biocube.

Hi, just wanted to ask a quick question. I have a yellow watchman goby. Anyone know if he will go after my new baby clowns? They are probably .5 inches long. I have them in a breeder right now but i'm itching to get them out into the big tank. Another concern was whether or not they would sucked into the return.
-
Both are sold. We are still trying to get everything settled but the clowns are not being very nice to catch.

does it have to be hang on back?
this skimmer has gotten alot of buzz on nano-reef http://www.marinedep...IPSHONW-vi.html
the aqualife is also good
The bubble magus nac3A is a good skimmer for that size if you go with a sump (and its a cone skimmer)
the reef octopus hang on back is a good one
i know that Hydor has just come out with thier slim slim skimmer which has also gotten some decent reviews on nano-reef.
Tunze is good as well (and they are in austin)
BTW this is "Will", im on Adams Computer

It has been eating regularly, I guess I'll just wait it out.
-
Ok. Well that makes sense. They looked fine on my computer. Thank you.
-
ok thanks. Starting to wonder if I have enough light for the nem. He seems to like being near the bottom after the light upgrade. If it wasn't happy wouldn't it try to get up higher?
-
Anyone have any tips on the long tentacle anemone? It looks better than it did, but still looks pretty bad. You can see it in the pictures near the sand bed. It was in the back of the tank for a long time then came back to the front when I put in the lighting upgrade.
-
I've never done one of these before. How long does it usually take?
-
Pending on all black. The other is still for sale!
-
Gotta sell these. Will do both for 60 or separated for 35 each.

Pushed post on accident. I added an old 50mm computer fan to the back and it really pulls the heat out. Took about 10 minutes with the dremmel and an extra 12v power supply.
-
If you wanna get the temp down there needs to be some airflow in there. I was sick of keeping the feeding lid open too.
-
Ok, im slowly finding out about these things lol. Seems to be a pretty general trend to reef keeping. The one I like is in the last picture.
-
I don't know but it does seem to be defying gravity doesnt it lol.

I'm interested in the the acans. I'm not real sure of the name. Rainbow skittle acan?

Just wanted to have this thread so I could document everything I do to my tank. I started it in July and it's recovering from the heat issues that I posted about in the other thread.
Equipment:
Biocube 14
900 GPH upgraded pump
3.24 Nano-Customs lighting upgrade
In-Tank Media Rack with Cheato, Filter Floss, and Purigen
420/454 Dual Actinic PC-R, Actinic White PC-R, 10000k Daylight / Actinic Blue PC
Dual Temp Heater
Koralia Hydor (Not Plugged In)
Life
Fish:
Black Ocellaris Clownfish
Yellow Watchman Goby
Corals, Anemones and Other Life:
Green Star Polyps
Yellow Polyps
Maze Brain Coral
Red Mushrooms
Blue Mushroom
2 Candy Canes
Long Tentacle Anemone
Rock Flower Anemone
Chalice
Brown Ricordia
Christmas Tree Favia
Doing 3-4 gallon water changes weekly and feeding every two days with pump off. Temp is now constant at 79*.
I'll post pics up of the stuff that i'm not sure what the exact name of them are. Here is are a few pictures of my tank.
Any help with the upside down pics would be appreciated. They aren't upside down when I upload them... (JamesL: Done! )

I have the dual 420/454 and the Actinic white PC-R bulbs in my tank and love the color. Seems like everything in my tank does too. I have now upgraded so that I can have three bulbs but just have a regular pc bulb that came with the upgrade. PC-R is def the way to go if your not upgrading to something stronger.

I had heat issues with my biocube as well. What were your temps at? I added a fan to the back and it moved te air enough that I had to put in a heater, it was down to 75. I like the rimless look as well. Check out nano reef. They have a couple rimless biocube threads. I think they use the sunpod on the 14g but I'm not sure about the 29.

There we go. The one on the left is in Will's tank now and the smaller one on the right is in my tank.
New 20 gal tank, ideas for equipment
in Reef Keeping
Posted
im thinking about starting up a new tank, looking to do a mixed sps/lps/clams reef with a med/high bioload and here is what i have so far:
20 gal (24x12x16) and a 15 gal sump (24x12x12).
Return pump (3ft of head pressure): possibly a mag 3, or mag 5/7 if i use it to power the reactor as well , advice?
Skimmer: TUNZE 9002, bubble magus 3+or 3.5, any other ideas.
Lighting: FNI 150w mh, FNI 250w mh, or maybe t-5's?
Carbon dosing: vertex or Warner Marine pellets in a Fish Need It media reactor powered either by the return pump or a maxijet 900 or 1200.
Circulation: most likely a k1 or k2. (thoughts)
I would prefer not a use a chiller, and if i went MH i would most likey hang it 7-12" above the water.
I will also have to drill the tank, any ideas of overflow sizes/ configurations
