Redundancy eases the mind or stresses it?
On 1/30/2017 at 4:29 PM, BornToHula said:I have backups for just about everything. The backups are mostly off my old 75g tank that I never sold off. I figured the peace of mind with having backups would be worth more than the pennies on the dollar I would get from selling them.
Return Pump: Running: Jaebo 12000 Backup: Vectra L1 (
)
Heater: Running: Three - 300w Finnex Backup: Two - 500w Finnex
Powerheads: Running: Two Gyre 150s, Two Neptune WAVs Backup: 1 MP40, 1 MP10, 2 Tunze nano steams
Lights: Running: Two ATI Powermodules Backup: Two AI Sol Blues, Three - 48" BuildMyLed lights
Skimmer: Running: ATI Powercone 150 Backup: Skimz SM160, Reef Octopus 150 (both would be undersized but would work in a pinch)
Tanks: Running: 240g Backups: 75g, Two 40g, 26g, 10g, Several 55g and 25g brute trash cans.
ATO: Running Tunze Osmolator 3155 Backup: Extra 3155 and two extra pumps
Extra Apex system with extra EB8 and temp probe.
I also have tons of emergency PVC parts and bulkheads in case something breaks.
The only things I can think of that I don't have backups for are dosing pumps and a biopellet reactor. I'd eventually like to get a generator too for long term power outages.
An extra apex? Heck I still use an aquacontroller 3! >:( grrr

Or this anchor, from hardware store, use a hook with threads that fits the anchor and extra nut and washer to lock it up....
yes this is a toggle, I just have very little experience in the long term effects of something such as this used in a ceiling

Not in the ceilling, however

Have a 60" ati hybrid coming in 8x80w w/ 3 75watt led banks. It appears the only way to mount this fixture is by hanging it. Here's the dilema, there are no studs over my tank, and this light is over 40lbs, what are my reliable options? Will a drywall toggle last long term? etc. Thanks!
