what kind of sea grass are you wanting to do? most of them are going to get so tall that you wouldnt be able to see anything in your tank. oar grass and a couple others from the same family only need 2-4" of sand and are pretty easy to keep. and plus it doesnt get very tall so you still get a nice grassy look but without the insane amount of sand and you can actually see your reef

i want to do manatee grass and i want the tank full of grass look, but i may need a taller tank

yeah, that one and shoal grass were first on my list, but need insane depth, tank and sand wise. if you can pull that off, that tank will look awesome!
