  1. Thanks Sean, I might have found the space I need already. I'll let you know if it falls though
  2. Unfortunately work has put me my tank in a bad situation. Since August I have been traveling to Denver from Sunday to Friday and my tank as been on a slow decline. After 3 broken reefkeeper 2's and moving into a smaller house it looks like I may have to get out of the hobby all together. I do still love this hobby and have a few sps colonies that I have grown rather attached to. If anyone is able and willing to keep these for me until I can properly restart a tank I would be much appreciated. I cannot say when that may be, since I will be traveling at least till April. If you would be willing to help me out please let me know. Thank you. Ben
  3. Correct me if im wrong but it looks like the top frame and the legs will only be held together by whatever you use to attach them. Personally i wouldnt do it that way because you are then relying on the strength of the screw or whatever what not, but not the 2x4 itself. Dont know if that makes sense or not. I'll try and find a pick to illustrate
  4. already have but the tank is still at my place in Austin.
  5. Tank is still available. Feel free to make offers.
  6. Hm... i was looking for the 19 x 19 but I may go with two of the 15s instead. Mike you have a pm about the rock
  7. I'm probably going to build a 400w lumiarc into my next hood but cant find a 400w DE model only SE models. Do they even make 400W DE models?
  8. Brian, yeah I know.... but... well.... ok fine crybaby2.gif I'll post some pictures later. I'm trying to get it skinned with all this mahogany but it wont stop raining! Jimbo, yeah this was the tank on maast
  9. cool, maybe I wont brace it after all. Getting kinda lazy after building the stand Hey Brian, I used 34 2x4's on my tank stand. I guess in the end i'm not nearly as bold as you, or it could be that you're just a better stand builder than me dontknow.gif Thanks for answering my question.
  10. Oh, I was more worried about being able to mount it all together. I didnt know if eurobracing gets in the way at all
  11. oceanview, It was a custom order that I bought off of someone else. I got some free glass so I may eurobrace it anyways. I have a wavebox coming in though, I dont know if this will keep me from using it or not
  12. So I picked up a 140 gal 40" x 40" x 20" and surprisingly it is made of 1/2" glass and not braced at all. My current 70 gal isnt braced on the 36" side and uses 1/2" glass as well but I'm not sure if the extra 4" makes a difference. I know 48" tanks are braced, but do you think?
  13. Looks like I'm moving so I'm going to upgrade my tank while I'm at it. Black Trim Oceanic 70 gal RR perfect condition less than 2 years old 2 stands one 24" skinned in birch, one 36" skinned in black plywood One acrylic sump Tank new is $350, asking $300 for everything Probably wont be available till the 1st of the year. I need to setup my new tank in Houston and move the livestock.
  14. Looking good! Is this tank all finished yet. Just got back in town, if your still up for trying to make a tank with the 40 give me a call.
  15. actually I have no doubt that you could and make it actually hold up a tank
  16. wow you actually used 2x4s willingly for once laughing9.gif

    20 Gal Reef

I would be interested in any rock iflytoohigh doesnt pick up.
  18. that majorly sucks! Hope everything else that you have left pulls through.
  19. I think its a good idea. Marsh does the just prints theirs out on business cards as well and has the head of the club (Andrew) sign and individualize it. Shouldn't be that expensive. I know somewhere that we can print out a few hundred for $10 or less. I would probably help the sponsors as well.
  20. anything that you want, I'll be making some finger food so anything is fine. Ben
  21. Just checking interest... I have been building maxi mods and magnetic holders for power heads for a while and just wondering if anyone would be interested in buying them together as a kit. The kit would include One modification of a mj (I would need your mj) One magnetic mount One swivel mount to attach the mj so you could angle it up/down or left/right The total kit would be $50. Let me know if you are interested. Shows you the strength of the magnet mount, center cap and slits will be slightly different
