      it doesn't have to. I know plenty of divorced couples that still spend time together.

      well its my dads family none of them seem to talk to me anymore unless they have to

      couples/families, I know plenty that still hang out.

      I'd tell them it seems to you that they only call when they have to and ask what if anything is bothering them about you/the relationship
