All, i will be trhe first to admit i know some about fish, but not alot, never had to treat for any parasites or ever had anything strange go on with them. ive kept very small populations of 3 or 4 fish most the time in most my tanks weather it be a 90gal, 40gal and so on. the point.. I have a coral beauty Angelfish that keeps pooping long stringy brown substance roughly 4 times in the last couple hours, it eats like a pig and breaths and swims normal. what could be wrong.

So along with some white pod flat worms I have noticed some red ones in the fuge. They seem to be only on the glass and macro. I plan on treating it with flat worm exit. Since I can turn off the flow to the main tank, The fuge is a separate tank. I will wipe down the glass, dose the fuge with the product. Wait a bit then change out 100% of the water. Wipe and drain a second time then refill. Does any one think this will cause an issue with anything like tube worms in the main tank or sponges in the sump?

I have not seen any in the main tank but I think a wrasse or 2 is in the near future.

Also I have read, blue nudi's will eat them. Does anyone know if I can keep 1 or 2 in my fuge? What else do they eat ?

	Any inverts eat them?

Hi I had a royals gamma for 2weeks happy and eating well then started swimming very odd didn’t touch dinner and now no where to be found. I assume dead! Any ideas what could have happened? Water testing didn’t show anything out of normal nitrates were a little high around 10 I also lost a snail. Just throwing it out there I didn’t see any white spots but guess could be in gills. Is it safe to get more fish ? I have a goby in there and possibly a rotting fish in the rock I can’t get to with tearing apart tank

On Day 3 when they go into the second tank I plan on having it treated with Prazi. Then one 2 day cycle with no treatment. Then when they go for the next 3 day cycle I plan on Copper. The last cycle will have no chemicals. They will then go into my observation tank for a while to get fattened up on live food before making the big jump.

Does anyone see any issues with this?

So i recently had a ich outbreak and lost 3 of the 6 fish i had one by one and now I'm too scared to buy more fish cause i don't know if there's something i should do beforehand. I had a volitan lionfish, fuzzy dwarf lionfish, a blue spot puffer, and a sailfin tang which was the one originally getting ich occasionally and just naturally fighting it off. Then i bought a blue throat trigger and a potters angel. Everyone did great for a week then out of nowhere the trigger, the angel, and the tang got infested with ich and died one after the other. It's been 3 weeks and the 2 lionfish and puffer are great. Any advice before i decide to get more fish?

This rock covered with red Rhodactis mushrooms was sitting partially in the shade of a large toadstool leather. The mushroom on the bottom began to bleach about a week ago and then the one above it started to do the same, I moved it out in the open so it would get better light. However, it seems weird that one would bleach while the others seemed unaffected. I am worried that it might be pathogenic and not a photo response. Any of you seen something like this? What else should I do beside give it light and maybe spot feed some Reef Chili and Cyclopeeze?

Two days ago the Sailfin Tang started showing some black spots. I thought they were abrasions because he and the Foxface have been jousting for position in the tank. The tank was recently moved (Jan 20th) and no new additions have been added other than new Carib Sea Figi Pink Live Sand. I am using the same live rock, fish and inverts. The pH is 8.0, Ca - 420, Alk 6.9dKH and temp 78. I have not tested Nitrate or Ammonia. I have started feeding a pellet food with the mysis and the tang has been gobbling that up. I also recently added nori to the menu. The fish is eating well, but is swimming more erratically, darting in and out of the live rock. Here is a TouYube video of the tang. BLACK SPOTS ON TANG

The night that I noticed the spots I made 30 gallons of RO/DI and last night since the spots were still there I mixed salt. Tonight I plan on moving the Tang to the QT. I'm planning on a freshwater dip and then treating him with PraziPro. Any other thoughts/suggestions?

Hi All,

I've been doing some reading lately (dangerous I know) and heard good things about Chloroquine Phosphate as a QT treatment.

1) Does anyone have experience with this medication?

2) Does anyone have extra?

I can only find it as a bulk purchase at $190 for a kg. Fortunately the dosing is only 40mg/gal once, so a 30 gallon QT tank only takes 1.2 grams So I could buy the whole kg and have 833 doses. Which seems like overkill. If anyone is interested in splitting up a kg of CP let me know

Over the past month I have lost all my Tridacna clams to pinched mantle and pyramid snails. I don't believe the pyramid snails were the main cause of death, but the fact that they were on my clams suggests they didn't help keep them alive. I was manually removing the snails from the clams, but I could only find a one or two very small snails when I looked at night. Now that all my clams are gone, I thought for sure the snails would have died off by now...

However, I noticed the other day that I STILL have pyramid snails in my tank, which surprises me that they could survive without a host. I noticed something curious though, that all the pyramid snails I saw were all on top of collonista snails. Then it dawned on me that the pyramid snails may have just shifted to feeding on the collonista snails by boring through their shells and feeding on the flesh just like they do with clams. If this is the case, then either I have to wait for all the collonista snails to be hunted out, or for the pyramid snails to starve out from the lack of substantial food sources. Kind of an unfortunate observation, but I thought I would share!

Here's a terrible grainy picture of the pyramid snail on a collonista. I later discovered that there were two pyramid snails on this snail

So here's the full update on the Kole Tang: His eye has returned and remained normal for several days now and has as of yesterday started eating Mysis.

Yeah! His coat is good and shiny and I believe he is going to make it swimmingly thru the QT process.

So a bit ago we bought 2 Helfrichi firefish. Both were doing fine but one morning the second one was missing. We thought he was dead but then this morning he reappeared! He looked very lethargic and was not moving much. I had to go to work but when Meg got home she found him laying on the sand bed with some strange looking thing on its side. She texted me pictures and we figured it was some parasite.

Meg caught him and we decided to try a freshwater bath. Immediately the parasite started to move. Meg took tweezers and tried to pluck it off but the darn thing was on pretty good. So after a few tries we decided to smash it with the tweezers. Very carefully Meg pinched the parasite and smashed it to death. We put the firefish into QT and he immediately looked somewhat better. Hopefully he will survive.
