Beaux
I have a 20 gallon long reef tank and I am going to attempt a diy build on a 10 gallon subterfuge. This will be using a HOB system. My question is about the return sump. What would be an acceptable size, by rating GPH? I will attempy to have the subterfuge section included and possibly later down the line a protein skimmer as well. I already have two jet wave makers on each side of my tank, and I would say that my flow is adequate at best. Any suggestions ?
Atxraider83
This is just guessing on my part but I would look at a syncra .5 or 1.
Timfish
It's largely personal prefference. With wavemakers you have enough internal flow in your DT so just a few turnovers per hour through your sump will be fine.
