WantToReef512
I saw an old post from 2012 on here but wasn't sure if it was still valid. Where would I go to get a tank drilled? I have a 125G I'm picking up, but I would prefer not to DIY given the size.
+Dogfish
Acrylic or Glass ?
WantToReef512
It would be a glass tank. I would be drilling the back of the tank (using Modular Marine low profile overflow) using bean animal overflow setup
Isaac
i drilled a 10g for my turf scrubber w/ this drill bit: https://thd.co/2qGAwvL
Atxraider83
I just did the two returns and drain line on my 40 gallon with a kit from glassholes. I'm not confident enough to do it for someone else yet. It's you try to do it yourself just use plenty of water use the low speed on the drill with very little pressure let the drill do the work
+BobcatReefer
It is a lot more intimidating than it is difficult. Buy the bit and do it yourself.
WantToReef512
Hi All, Yeah, I'm going to just do it myself. I'm drilling a 125G tank and got the drill bits. Wish me luck :).

Atxraider83
Much easier than you think especially if you check to make sure it's not tempered
+Dogfish
Its not hard. You are grinding a hole not drilling. When drilling, if the hole gets tight (you will feel the bit bind a little), you can rock the bit slightly to make the hole a bit larger. Use a lot of water. Sometimes mixing baking soda with it helps keep moisture in the hole.

Atxraider83
Thanks. I'm thinking about doing the same, just a little worried about having only 1 drain lineI just elevated my return pump in my sump a bit so it would be out of water before the tank overflowedSent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
