Not sure what these things are. Been looking stuff up and it kinda seems like they're syconoid sponges but i just wanna double check and make sure these aren't harmful. They're all over the back of my tank and on some of the rock.711995968188123b7d474b561f7b0b57.jpg5c326c4d3a1fdfd582791e33f967ab45.jpg

They generally will pop up at some point in the first few months of setting up a tank, usually in low light areas with high flow.  They'll either stay or disappear.  As to why I'm not sure - I've read reasons ranging from nutrient issues to high silicate to increased bacteria in the water.  They are not harmful in any way and actually could be considered beneficial as they are free water filtration, although I doubt it is of any significance.   Mine are in my sump and overflow box.  If yours are not in an area where they are unsightly I'd leave them.  Otherwise you could try reducing the flow in that area or sucking them off with a baster or during your water change.
