Gig 'em @ NDstructible
DUDE! Man, what the heck is up with your tank and fish disease??? That sucks big time, sorry to see that. Hey a coral only tank isn't the worst, better than FOWLR imo
Bluemoon
Man. That sucks. Glad to hear the rest of fish are doing alright. Hang in there juice. Tanks looking great. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Isaac
how much UV wattage you got running on the tank?
Juiceman
Well... went back to Dr Harris at North Austin Animal Hospital for official diagnosis so I make sure I do what I’m supposed to.He says... it’s ICH....... WTF.... showed me the living cell on his phone that he scrapped off my Bariene and everything. If that’s the case.... I’ve never seen ich that kills like this. So severe that it has the outward appearance of Velvet?!But.... it does explain why it’s only affecting the more prone fish, and the non prone are showing no symptoms. It makes me think I may have had this strain in the Tank the entire time as I did the Fallow Time needed for Velvet, but didn’t wait the extra time for ich.So, back to catching everything again. My new approach will be to go ahead and treat everything the same way, with either Copper Power or Chloroquine Phosphate regardless of where they come from or if thy show symptoms or not.Every fish will be treated.... I’m sooo through with this crap, and I’m going to keep it that way. Diligence and patience. Time to focus on Coral for 90 days! Gig 'em @ NDstructible
Man that's frustrating! But on the bright side you've found the root cause of your issue! That's got to feel good knowing what you're up against and how to reach success. [emoji106]
Juiceman
Well 2 months later I finally caught the last fish from the Tank.Waiting 90 days before I put any fish back in just to be certain. Here’s my tank as of today:I some how didn’t catch all the Aiptasia and bubble algae when I transitioned to the new Tank so it has exploded. I’m trying some radiant for the bubble algae and dosing exactly as instructed along with my normal routine.I also invested in a wholesale order of 50 peppermint shrimp so we’ll see if they can kick these Aiptasia back since I can’t have any fish in the tank right now.And now I’ll work on QT’ing new fish and adding them to my fish tub until Feb 20th hits!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Juiceman
One of the reasons I’m hesitant to ever have an in wall tank... the side view!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

mdavis735
That tank is looking awesome. I agree about the side view. I always wanted and will have an in walk someday. I will definitely miss the side view though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

mdavis735
Something like that would work. Or an in wall/peninsula. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Sucks that you have so much aiptasia, but I love the solution! It is wonderfully over the top!

Juiceman
Been fighting some pockets of hair algae for a while so I’m going to be the local genie pig on a new medicine for Bryopsis and GHA.Your suppose to dose 20mg per gallon so that works out to 22 pills of Fluconazole. Dissolved into a glass and dosed to the Tank with the skimmer turned down and carbon turned off. GHA is supposed to be gone in 21 days.... here’s hoping!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The hair algae that was in the tank at the same time didn't completely go away. A majority of it did die back. Towards the end of the treatment the ends turn gray. I'd say a couple of weeks after treatment you can see it starting to grow back. I just finished a treatment last week for GHA. Going to do another starting this weekend to see if it'll take it all the way out.

Juiceman
Back to QT’ing new fish. Had these guys about a week. Ramped up to therapeutic copper power in the bottom Tank and CP in the top. Also running Anti Biotics and prazi.Seems that everything else I’ve tried has been snake oil or just the wrong treatment.I’ve also found that using an ammonia sponge really helps with issues (not on the copper Tank)It may be too early to say but it seems that the GHA treatment is already working in the fact that it’s not growing. Normally I’d have to prime it every other day or so.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
