whoever 3d printed those needs to adjust their settings.  do you know what material he used? better hope its petg or abs, cuz pla will melt over time in saltwater and release bad stuff.

What do you mean adjust settings? Yeah, he sells them on Marsh as a sponsor. He stated he uses plastics that don't leach. That was my first question to him back when I bought my red frag rack and magnetic float valve holders.

Haha thats pretty much what mines looking like except its dark green.

Im pondering using chemiclean or not. I think ill try and wait it out and mechanically filter out what I can for at least a few weeks.

Its just so **** ugly.

I just hired 2 gobys. Im lazy and they work hard moving the sand around. Once the green gets on the rocks I will hire a lawnmower.

Definitely considered hiring a sand sifter goby, sh1t Ive actually always wanted one but knew it would eventually irritate some corals and clams.

But I just may have to hire one on a contractual basis.

If you can refer me to a lawnmower that likes chomping some juicy, decadent cyano, please refer!

I think I finally did it! I think I found the perfect T5 bulb combo over my tank when matched with two SBREEF actinic bars. The look I was going for was nice white with a hint of blue from the T5s (12k to 14k) and the pop of LEDs. Adding the GE 6500k bulb really helped balance out all the blue actinic pop I was getting from the two SBREEF actinic bars and preserve some of the warmer tones that get lost in a lot of reef tanks.

That way I can still enjoy more natural looking colors during daylight with the extra pop from LEDs. During dusk/dawn, I can appreciate all those blue light specials like all the rainbow tenuis that seem to be all the rage these days but look pretty ordinary under normal lighting.

Here's the bulb combo:

Looks good bud!!!!
He's alive! Thanks Seth!
What's your replacement procedure, schedule and cost? Asking for a friend.
Plan was to replace bulbs annually and raise light fixture to acclimate to new bulbs but now waiting on BRS to release more usage data on T5 bulbs so I can delay some of the replacing.

Cost is about $180 annually for replacement bulbs in my 8 bulb fixture.

Alright, had some fun with the actinic shots and gel filters the last couple of weeks.  Back to the good ol' white lights and what I like to refer to as WYSIRL (What you see in real life) pics... Well... If your eyes could see at the macro level at least. [emoji16]
