I am happy to announce that we are finally getting back into a larger tank. Many of you may have seen this tank before, I purchased it from Jimbo.

This will be a slow build as I acquire and decide what types of equipment I will be using. So far here is what I think:

Equipment

175g peninulsa

40g sump. Really want to push the refugium packed with micro/macro algae. Want to keep the nutrient export as natural as possible.

Waveline DC 10000 II pump

Pair of either Jebao  PP15s .

Lighting is a toss up. Really thinking about OceanRevive or even trying my hand at some Ebay lights (read a lot of decent reviews

Skimmer is a little way out. Bio-load will be light so I have time for this. Might buy James vertec

Apex controller in time

Stocking list (not in any order)

Gold stripe maroon clowns (pair), already have them

Green corris wrasse, already have

Mystery wrasse, wife loves these

Pygmy angel, already have

3 yellow tail damsels, already have. These are still up in the air, I have grown attached

2-3 tangs, yellow, scopis and powder/brown/regal, not sure

Mandarin goby

Flame angel

4-5 skunk cleaner/fire shrimp

Assortment of fun cleanup crew

Corals

Obviously doing the soft stuff zoas and the like

Will do LPS and maybe a spattering of SPS

I am torn as to where I want to go with corals. As much as I like SPS and even LPS my luck has not been great, we will see

Hopefully the tank will be in its new home on Thursday and the fun will begin. Check back now and then to see how it is going.

Hey, nice looking tank! ;-)

I know right. It's going to look even better once it gets to its new home. I think sitting in your garage is doing something to its self-esteem lol. I didn't think you would mind if I borrowed your pics.

I tore down the halk wall dividing my living room and faux dining room. The tank will sit here and look awesome seperating the two spaces. The faux dining area will be comes a sitting room. I wanted to add more tanks and make it an aquatics area but I'll take what I can get.

The nice thing is that power will be right behind the tank and I plan on running one of the to the far end. This will give me the ability to easily add hardware that requires power.

Anyone want to help me get my pics pointing in the right direction. I've tried all kinds of things and nothing, still sideways

The 175 is in its new home. Thanks James for selling me this awesome tank. Thanks Ty for coming over and helping with the load up. Thanks to my friend David for helping with the load and just the two of us on the off load.

Time to start putting all the pieces in place to get this thing up and running.

^^^ Same here, and if I would have had the money and place to put that tank, I would have bought it from Jimbo a couple of months back. It's a great setup! Looks awesome in that spot!

Mike, the feet prints you see inside the stand... this guys ^^^ ... shifty.gif

Electrical is done. I was limited with what I could because of the way the previous owner had run some after build electrical stuff. The previous half wall had power in it so I was able to use that. When I removed the wall I found that there was no way for me to put boxes in the exterior wall so I had to surface mount the boxes where the romex came out. I am not worried with the overall appearance as no one can see them unless they try. The good thing is that both of these outlets are on different breakers so I should not have any power problems.

Started plumbing. I deceide to run the return lines along the inside of the canopy to the far end for additional flow. I did not want the RW-15s to run full blast just to get some flow down there. The pipes are white and that is ok, I might paint them black but since you only see them when the canopy is open I'm not too terribly worried.

I meant they are Jeff's (Bobcat).

Return lines are done. I am using a Waveline DC 10000 II so I doubt I will have any issues moving the water down the line. I also adjusted the return pump so it sits further back in the return chamber and reduced a few extra bends in the pipes. I can now put my heaters in this chamber so the water is pulled past them.
