+achen
I just found my containers of GFO and carbon I purchased from BRS. It's been around for at least 2 yrs. Can I still use them or safer to dump them and get a new batch?
AlexMorsePremium
Neither has a shelf life, the main thing is if they were sealed. If they could have gotten moist they could be somewhat used up as far as what they're able to absorb.
jestep
Unless they have been in an environment where they would be in contact with and absorb PO4 or organics respectively, or they got moisture in the container and literally started growing mold or fungus, the shelf life is essentially indefinite. +achen
Thanks. The container seems airtight. I don't see any moisture or any mold inside. I'll keep a close eye on it when I start using it again.
