Robb in Austin
Just noticed this. Anyone seen this before?
Timfish
Yeah, it's my understanding it's part of the reproductive process with some sponges. I've seen those "appendages" develope then disappear several times in my tanks. It typically is about 4 - 5 months for them to grow then shrink. But it could be something entirely different also. mFrame
+1 to what Tim said, yeah I've got it all over my rocks near my overflow. Great filter feeding.
+FluxCapacitor
I have sponges that look like that as well in my 14g nano. I'm not a biologist but I don't think they're hurting anything. I hope that helps.
Robb in Austin
I've got plenty of sponges on my rock, love em in fact, but don't recall ever seeing them sprout antenna.
FarmerTy
Mine sprouted the "antenna" in the sump in really fast flow.
