how to connect water line to ato metering pump?

I agree with Ty on determining what exactly you are trying to accomplish first. However, the top looks a lot like a pump I use in environmental sampling and this is a picture of how I connect 1/4 tubing to a larger connection by using different sizes of tubing to step down 0cd858d5fef023aa3e259f9551b7850c.jpg

I have these pumps in my rodi reservoir bucket. so when my apex detects my sump is low it turns this pump on to add rodi water to the sump.

gig'em yep that looks like what I got, just my tubing has popped out. I have another pump but I was able to find a small plastic insert that I put into the tubbing that was hollow but it expanded the tubing a bit so it doesn't pop off the pump when then pump turns on.

If you're not using the stock tubing which fits fairly snugly, you might try dipping the tubing in some boiling water for a few seconds and stretch it over the entire outlet piece. Assuming you're using vinyl or silicon tubing and not something rigid like RO tubing.
