There used to be a guy on here by the name of Patrick, who used to aquaculture large amounts of live rock. Hopefully someone here will have his contact info. I saw a few pieces from him and they looked great.

Dan, Im new here also. I ordered my Saltwater tank a few weeks ago and the new 225 is to be delivered next week. But more importantly its great to see a fellow Michigander. Im a WMU graduate and my wife is from the Kzoo area.

My wife and I both graduated from WMU undergrad, and I'm originally from Kzoo. That's awesome. We may have to swap horror stories about the great white north.

We sure will. Im getting ready to start a build soon. I ordered a DSA 225 tank, stand canopy and am on the waiting list for a complete Lifereef Sump, Skimmer, reactor setup. I just have to live patiently with an empty tank for 5 months. I should have the tank next week

Ill PM you my contact info. It would be great to swap stories and get a better idea of what I got myself into. Ive wanted a reef tank for years and finally have the right house to do it in.

Manny,

Your thinking of Patrick (subsea)

http://www.aquacultureranch.com/home

he is no longer active on the forum and I'm not sure why. I wasn't privy to the details of his departure and don't need or want to be.

DHerlbert,

I don't know Patrick and have never done business with him and am no way endorsing him or his business. Just simply pointing you towards his website.

Absolutely. 5 months? I don't think I could hold out that long. We've been planning this tank for probably about 6 months, but once we pulled the trigger, things started moving fast. My recycling bin has been overflowing with boxes from all the stuff.

If you'd like to chat about what you've gotten into, I'd love to dispense my wisdom. :)

I'll check out Patrick's site. Thanks!

I sent an email to the guy running the site you linked and unfortunately, he replied that he is no longer in business. Darn. Looked like they had nice LR.

No progress on the stand today due to the weather, but we did drop by and check it out. We chose a finish for the walnut and Robert thinks it may possibly be done next weekend. Yay!

I also swung by tank depot on 620 this morning and picked up a 55 gallon tank for water changes. Ryan, the guy working there turned out to be a former salt water hobbyist, so we ended up reminiscing. Really nice guy, and I hope he gets back in to the hobby some day. Ryan, if you read this, feel free to shoot me a message and you're more than welcome to come check out the tank.

More shipments came in today. Got some nice waterproof boxes to keep the electronics dry and prevent bad things from happening.

Woohoo! The tank is here! The shipping box was pretty badly damaged on both ends which scared the poo out of me, but only 3 tiny scratches were there from screws rubbing against the back corner.

I must say, the tank looks amazing! Thank you Lance and GPS Aquariums! You built a beautiful tank.
