kia
Hi Reef Enthusiasts, My name is Kia and I'm new to the hobby. I just wanted to say hi and I'm also looking for mentors who can give me advice along the way. I bought a 65G rimless tank from another member (Vu_Deezy), it looks to be a great tank. I'm starting to get all the pieces for my build (skimmer, power heads, pieces of PVC for plumbing), still looking for a good sump that is not too pricy. Thanks,
FarmerTy
Welcome to the club Kia! That was a great looking setup that Vu Deezy had. You should hit up the MFrame (owner of the club) if you have any interest in our new mentor program. Otherwise, I'd start a build thread and start documenting your build. Plenty of people will jump on the thread to help you out if you have any questions! Sent via Tapatalk

+KimP
Welcome to the club! I'm about to clean out my 20gal sump and it'll be available for sale. Have you thought about what size you want to fit in the stand?
kia
Hi Everyone, Thanks for the warm welcome. As for the sump I was looking at a 30 gallon tank, I've been researching a bit and thought about the trigger ruby 30 but wasn't sure about the return flowing into the socks? Would that be difficult to clean and maintain? Any thoughts and experience with these type of sumps would be helpful. At the moment I'm stripping out the red corvette paint from the cabinet because the wife didn't approve of it. I really like the mirror finish of the paint unfortunately it didn't go with our furniture. I'll probably go with gloss white but any recommendations is also welcome (not red) Thanks, Kia. nori4dori
Oh man. That red! It'd go so well with my furniture. I was eyeing it for a long time but couldn't commit to a 65g in a 3rd floor apt. GL with your build. I think it'll look good in glossy white.
kia
LOL...It was a really nice paint job and I thought twice about removing it. It took me forever to strip the paint, here's a pic of the stand today I'll take another pic when I'm done with the painting.
