My first "Human Aquarium" tank build!

Recommended Posts

I thought I would post a build thread of my first home that the amazing Ty Ta helped me buy this year and document what I'm doing with the place. I hope others may be inspired to use Ty as their realtor for when they want to buy a house, he was the best realtor ever! He knows what us aquarium junkies look for in a house and does a great job screening for houses that may interest you.

Anyway, here we go!

Tank size: 1170 sq ft

Lighting: A mix of LEDs, CFLs, and incandescent

Flow: HVAC central air and a few powerhead ceiling fans. Bought another ceiling fan recently, but still waiting to get it installed.

Omg, hilarious! I've got so many corny reef jokes right now that I can hardly contain them! For the sake of ARC, I'll refrain.

All I request is at least an updated annual FHS (full house shot) so I can see the updated housescaping and to monitor growth. Thanks for being such a great client John (and an even better friend), couldn't have asked for a better time looking at houses with you and planning where all the tanks were going to go! Okay, I may have used one or two corny reef references in that last paragraph.

I currently have stocked two male roommates right now. I like to keep strictly males in my tank, since females can often be more territorial and aggressive, kind of like female clownfish.

Nice build. What livestock do plan on putting in it.

Female Maroons will cut ya if you don't listen...Enough said.

On the topic of roommates just to reiterate: Cats, unlike spouses, significant others, friends, children and dogs, are still legal to lock up in a closet when you get tired of them whining and complaining. Anyway Congradulations!

you can also leave them with sufficient water and food rations for up to a week without a concern.

Would you say that cats are the equivalent of GSP? They just can't be killed, no matter where you put them in the tank

more like urchins. they will just roam around and get everywhere, knock things over, and poke you with spikes if you're not careful. sadly, they can be killed, but with proper parameters they can live 15-20+ years.

Updated FHS shot from yesterday:

Current living room shot:

well, it's time to pull the halloween decorations, i'd say. those ghosts on the porch, but especially that aggie chair in the living room.

Well I can see how A&M is scary to some, I know DeLoss Dodds is so scared that he won't let any longhorns go near us.

Actually NPR had a bit on this morning by some UT professors about how important rivalries are for camaraderie and they used UT and A&M as prime examples of how we long for rivalry and enshrine each other in our fight songs. DeLoss should really listen to it and let us play again. This temper tantrum has to end eventually

Touché sir.

Can't do the multiquote now, so in regards to the not playing thing. It was my understanding (with football at least) that the out of conference schedule was set through 2018 when the Aggie's ran away from the big 12. But I don't keep up with it that much, much less the political workings of the 2019 non conference schedule, so I may be wrong. Of course, it sounds like this is a good time not to be able to play the aggies.

I do agree that rivalries are good though, if that wasn't obvious. :).
