bigmike015
I just built this frag rack, will this help the corals grow faster?
ct67stang
some of my coral when moved to closer to the light, look happier but keep in mind that not all coral want that much light. so to answer your question its a matter of what coral you will put in the rack. as pictured IMO light might be too close. ill let the rest of the club correct me if Im wrong. by the way, nice rack lol
+Capt. Obvious
depends on the light...those look like stunner strips in the pictures...i'd back them off a bit
+Mitch
The answer is that it depends. What are those lights? What's the distance to the corals? What type of corals do you hope to grow out?

+Capt. Obvious
"Nothing good happens fast in a reef aquarium" Raise that light up, supplemental light is OK, but that looks a bit close
bigmike015
Ok, well thanks for the advice, glad I asked!
esacjack
too much light can cause zoas to melt away... they're really finicky.. .some multiply like weeds, others like some of my exotics, you'll get a new polyp every two or so months! Butn another way to make them grow out is to frag them into individual polyps spread out on a plug.. so 3 or 4 polyps spread out on the frag plug.
