esacjack
I'm in the middle of planning out a nano fixture, but I want two UV lamps, and I want them dimmable so that I can add/subtrac as I see fit. I cant seem to locate a driver that is rated for less than 3LED's. Does anyone have any recommendations?
Pailines
Using Analog Dimming is nearly impossible and very expancive to do with <5 LED. But if you dont mind a bit diy, a LDD with a PWM controller can do 1-14, in that range.
esacjack
yah I've been looking at the little 700ma buck puck ... http://www.ledsupply.com/03021-d-i-700.php and the harness http://www.ledsupply.com/03021hep.php What I cant figure out, and mainly because I'm a n00b to dimming LED's, is where does the reference voltage come from? Do I need a separate power supply for the reference voltaeg? Also, I'm partially asleep as I type htis...
Pailines
Usually the site that sells the led will let you know the rV. If the site doesn't tell you... it's probally not safe to guess..
esacjack
Well I know what the voltage should be (5v). My question was do I need an additional 5v power supply to provide that reference voltage? I guess the answer would be yes unless I get one of the LDD power supplies that can do 4 drivers and reference.
Pailines
The website should tell you the rV... if it doesn't... i would doubt the quality of the led.... and purchase it at another location. The driver im refering to is this one instead. CLICK It is a driver that require an additional power source, but can be wired from 1 LED up to 14 LED depending on the power the led consumes. And paired with a 555 IC PWM DIY driver from any radioshack, you can add more UV or just use it to power "1" LED Sry, double post, but the answer depends on what driver you are using, some is built in like a Meanwell 48D or 48P, but the LDD is not, so for it you would been to add a additional source. (Sry i am sleepy too, been researching about adruino controller)
Pailines
And the driver you linked, if im not mistaken, i remember that it's a constant current driver with out dimming capability... but i need to double check
+Capt. Obvious
Lumidrives variled 1-20va dimmable led driver 2x350 ma would do the trick, but I believe is a bit overkill and only come in 230v flavor Pailines' suggestion is probably the best route
