questions:
1. has anyone had their tank moved for something like this?
2. who did the moving?
3. where was all the livestock kept?
4. what problems occurred?

Source for Hardware for RO/DI Installation?

I am moving my RO/DI Unit to the garage, but the hardware that came with the unit only came with the items to install it under the sink or permanently to a pvc pipe. My thoughts were to use a y-splitter with a hose bib connected to the cold water line of my washer. Y-splitters come in brass and zinc. Will one of these materials be a better choice over the other? Also, I went to the hardware store with no luck on finding the correct adapter to go from a hose thread to 1/4" tubing. Has anyone seen this adapter in town or online? I have attached a picture of the adapter below. Thanks.

Reef Book Recommendations?

Hi,
I'm new to the hobby. I bought a tank that was somewhat established, FOWLR, and had it moved about two weeks ago. The original owner did not really maintain it that well and I am just getting my parameters to stabilize a bit after the move. I am planning on letting the tank settle for probably 6 more weeks or so before I add anything. I was just wondering if anyone could recommend some good books in the meantime. Something extremely comprehensive would be ideal. Also I am interested in getting into SPS down the road so any good recommendations on SPS specific books would be appreciated as well. Thanks!

I was on Pacific East Aquaculture, looking at clams, when I saw a tomato clown pair with a GBTA. On the scale of clownfish aggressiveness, where are tomato clowns? Closer to Percs or Yellow striped maroons? Also, has anyone ordered from Pacific East?

Bristle Worm Removal

I'd love some advice on bristleworms. I've seen at least 2 rather large bristle worms in our 24 gallon. I'd say they are at least 6-8 inches long each. I've searched online and find differing opinions on whether these guys are good or bad. Quite honestly, they totally creep me out and I'd like these big ones out of the tank. I spent about half an hour watching them with a flashlight last night and then had worm-filled nightmares all night!!

Has anyone had luck with removing bristleworms? What are the best methods?

A little info about tank: 24 gallon Nano Cube with LPS and zoas, a royal gramma, a purple firefish, a yellow watchman goby, and clean-up crew.

Thanks for any input!!

Wrasse missing since lighting upgrade

So I went from T5s to MH on Sunday.

Monday I couldn't find my Pink Margin Fairy Wrasse.

I looked everywhere around the tank and in the overflow looking for carpet surfing...nothing.

It's a little skittish at times normally, but if I'm in front of the tank for a few minutes it will usually make an appearance. And if I shut off the pumps to feed it usually pops right out. Nothing yesterday.

Can a lighting change freak them out enough to put them into hiding for a while?

Also, there's a strange bump in the sand...is it possible it buried itself to hide from the lighting?

ACIII program help/?

I've got my dosing pumps in and would like to rename some outlets and everytime I rename FN2$ to DP1$ and assign FN2$ to another outlet and hit "update" on the Program Editor screen, the change holds. Then I go back to the Status screen and the DP1 gets renamed to FN2.

I've also tried adding a line of code for DP1 thinking the ACIII won't take a new outline name unless there is a line of code for it and I get the same results - DP1 gets changed back to FN2 when I go back to the status page.
Anyone got any thoughts on why it won't take the changes?

yellow tang abrasion

I picked up this little yellow tang a few weeks ago and about after a week of being in my tank he had what looked to be a bite bark below his side fin. i didn't think too much of it until now. the bite mark appears to be healing however there is a brown round spot that has appeared near the wound. i wish i had a picture but i don't think i could capture the wound while he's moving. any thoughts?

he seems to be doing well. loves to swim and his eating.

And...lit!

After getting past the T5 fun (http://www.austinree...__0&#entry69830), the rest went decently.

Two 250W MH, two T5 actinics.

Alignment isn't great right now. I had to offset the hangers to balance out the front to back weight. Using most of the same hanging kit that I was using with my Aquactinics Constellation setup. I'll be building a canopy soon that will help it settle properly into place.

Way off the tank right now to acclimate as well.

Still gotta adjust the timing on the Aquacontroller.

help with some questions

first i wanted to know how long I should wait to dose my tank with the stuff i have after doing a water change. i just finished the water change and wasnt sure if i should wait until tomorrow to give things time to settle after the water change or if its ok to do it now. Another thing is, i have some kenya tree frags in my sump right now and i want to move them into my main tank. I was going to fresh water dip them in cause there was any flat worms left down there (since i had a little trouble with them a couple of weeks ago). will a fresh water dip hurt this type of coral?
