  1. See you're  getting out of hobby. I bought a fish off you a few years back. Very nice tank.  Great dive, snorkel videos!

  2. All those yellow tangs! Amazing!
  3. Very cool and well done. That main tank is awesome. Thanks for sharing!
  4. U open for trades? Have a nice torch.
  5. Johnny Hunter? If so, he's sitting right next to me....

  6. Hi, I am picking up a 130 G tank later this week and plan on trying to consolidate contents (most of the fish, liverock, sand, and soft corals) from 2 tanks into the one. I have been reading through sites trying to get info, advice, recommendations to make this happen, but what I really need is a source for maybe some large containers. If anyone out there (would prefer North austin area if at all possible, I'm about 4 miles west of RCA) has any type of large container (e.g 20 - 40 gallon trash can or rubbermaid container use for water changes or livestock moves) that they could spare for a few days to help me make the move go a little smoother I would really appreciate it. I'm tentative on an actual date at this point, but I plan to pick up the tank this Sunday and maybe try to make the consolidation the week after. Anyway, anyone that wants to send me some advice (either through personal experience or maybe a good source out there on the net) or could lend out their container for a few days, I would really appreciate it. 7. Thnks for the info...I'm @ work...so will try to get back with you tomorrow. MJM
  8. Regarding a six line, do you think he would be okay with one? I read they (Lunar Wrasse) are peaceful fish. Also, would he be okay in a 90G tank? I may be interested. Michael McDermott
  9. That's typical Laura, you'll be happy to know our glorious legislators didn't have any problems getting tickets! http://www.texaswatchdog.org/2010/01/legislators-tickets-texas-alabama-football-bcs-national-championship-pasadena/ UT students should have PRIORITY! Anyway, My Brain says Alabama, but my Heart say TEXAS.... HOOK 'EM Mike McDermott

  12. Long story short, I received an order from Reef Cleaners today which I didn't order. Contacted John via email and he adv to go ahead and keep it or deliver to LFS. Well, I can always use free order of snails and a few hermit crabs. I apologize to anyone if they don't receive their order due to this, but I'm hoping this is just a clerical error on his part and will not affect your Group Buy. I didn't want to go through the hassle of trying to ID what I received and see who may have ordered it or may be missing when the group buy is received. I was part of a ARC group buy several months ago, but haven't ordered since then. If anyone one wants it, I did receive what I believe is a mangrove plant which I don't need. Let me know, I live in North Austin. Michael McDermott 250-8813

I love this place...saw nice sea turtles, eels, and even a cuttlefish while snorkeling there. Beach is beatiful and lot of cool stuff to explore when walking around the sides of the "bowl". Sure do miss the beautiful blue Pacific Ocean (spent 3 years in Guam with the occasional trip to Hawaii)// Michael McDermott
  16. Matt, Hopefully will be by within next couple of hours to pick up trigger. If both purple tangs are taken, I will probably take the butterfly as well if he's eating frozen, flake, and seaweed. Michael McDermott
  17. I'm in for a nice sized chunk if you will frag it. Maybe whatever you think would be fair for $35? Michael McDermott
  18. Sorry ...forgot to post my number in case you wanted to drop me a line. Reach me @ 250-8813. thnks Michael McDermott
  19. I wanted to make an offer on 1 purple tang, but it looks like those are spoken for? I would like to purchase the Niger, but was thinking more along the lines of $35. If the deal on the purple tangs falls through, would love to purchase one @ $75 if that would be reasonable for you. Let me know .... Michael McDermott
  20. Rgr that...I've read several articles and you can go either copper or hypersalinity in a QT, but you put so much time into taking care of tanks as it is (daily maint, water changes, etc). Also, its a hassle catching the fish with all the live rock to deal with. I lost a trigger who must have took a serious turn for the worse the day after I left town for a trip. Came back 3 days later and he was beyond help. He seemed to be dealing with the stuff okay on the day I left, but took a turn for the worse and was beyond help by the time I got home 3 days later. Anyway, thnks for the info...
  21. Thanks for the info...that really helps in the decision. I like to keep it as simple as possible and that sounds like it would most likely be a waste of money. MJM
  22. I bought a flame angel on impulse from LFS about a month ago. I don't use QT on fish, so putting them into tank can be a risk and since he had only been at the fish store for a few days this was a risk--definitely one I shouldn't have taken. Long story short, fish had some type of parasite and after he died, fish in my tank started to drop like flies. Well, looks like I'm just about out of fish (have a chromis, damsel, six line wrassed and a Foxface currently in a small tank dosing with copper, but I don't think he'll make it). I lost a clown, trigger, royal gram, and a few others. Questions is can I run a UV sterilizer (which I don't currently own) to kill of any remaining parasite that may be in the tank? I'm looking into purchasing one either on this site or Craigslist. Just would like a little advice as to how effective they are. thnks for any pointers/info... Michael McDermott
