  1. Blythe, I may have what you are looking for in my light box. I replaced it with the Apex. I'll PM you. Todd
  2. Thanks Tim, That's what I did. I came home yesterday and the infection was spreading. So, I pulled it out dipped it into Coral RX and fragged it into 15 pieces. We'll see how it does. I have 4 or 5 colonies in the display tank that came from frags that I broke off of the mother colony during maintenance so I'm not too worried. Besides, this stuff normally grows like a weed.
  3. During some tank maintenance last weekend I ended up moving a pocilopora that has been in the tank for a couple of years. Unfortunately my long tentacle anemone has moved up the rockwork and was coming in contact with the coral. As a result the coral is showing some damage right where the tentacles were meeting the coral. I moved the coral to the sandbed and away from the anemone but damage has been done. I have taken pictures and am monitoring the spread of the STN. The pictures below were taken this morning before the lights were on. Will the slow tissue necrosis continue? Should I pull the coral and do an iodine dip? Should I frag it up to healthy tissue and dip it? Love some feedback. Todd Council
  4. MacGyvered the heck out of those palys and xenias! That is exactly what I need to get rid of the few trash palys that have popped up in the tank. Thanks again for all the helpful tips!
  5. I'll play. Currently a high school biology teacher at St. Michael's Catholic High School. Back to my first love, biology. Started as a marine biology major at UNC-W before switching to geology for the $$$. Went to UT for my masters and then did a stint as an environmental hydrogeologist at Radian and then at TNRCC (now TCEQ) before the big life change. The last 15 years of teaching has been ridiculously rewarding.
  6. Stunning! Looks good now that they have finished the rails. The top view is incredible. I love that NO plumbing is visable. No plumbing, no light fixture, pure reef. You are a wizard, Tim.
  7. Man, I still love that scleractinian arch way!
  8. The sump looks so clean and shiny. Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk
