  1. I'm glad so many of you were able to attend and enjoy the meeting. Brian & Christina, your tank looks better than ever and I was very excited to bring home another frag from your reef. It is currently in an Interceptor bath for the night, and tomorrow after a 5 minute dip in ReVive it'll go in my reef. Thanks for all the snacks - way more than we could eat - and your hospitality. My hope is that the presentation will help each of your determine what is best for your reef and allow your systems to work properly while being easy to maintain.
  2. I think the next episode will be with Lindsey, and her job is to pick that winner. We'll get that business taken care of. Finally.
  3. Of course I did. That was a lot of fun, and a link to the tour was put in the show notes. Aaron's been on the show in the past. He's already famous. lol
  4. Good thinking. Start siphoning immediately then so the populations are down by then.
  5. Please read my little article carefully. Yes, siphon out all you can every single day for about two weeks before you treat the tank. All of this is covered in that write up. You can just siphon them into a bucket, but I was doing it to the sump so I wouldn't have to keep replacing saltwater with new saltwater.
  6. Red Planaria are just an eyesore. And honestly, it would be best if you could erradicate these because when you trade corals with others, you shouldn't help spread this 'plague' to other tanks. This article may help: http://www.melevsreef.com/flatworms.html
  7. Yes, that is what happened to others. I deleted my copy of the iTunes download, uploaded fresh RSS and XML files with the most recent time and date, and I have a feeling their site won't check it again until midnight. Hopefully by tomorrow, this will work as it should, because I don't know how to speed it up. The new file should be 83 megs.
  8. I edited the RSS feed early this morning, but somehow it was botched. I just updated it, but for me iTunes doesn't see the new episode yet. If you can download #25 (83 megs), please let me know. It might have to take a day before the RSS feeds update, or I'm still doing something wrong.
  9. Episode #25 is finally online! I hope you enjoy it. If you have iTunes, and you are subscribed to Reefcast, all you have to do is load the software and it will download it immediately to your computer or iPod.
  10. Thanks Aaron for posting that. Here's the latest - sign up before the price goes up! http://www.austinreefclub.com/index.php?showtopic=2650
  11. Thanks funny. I voted for Top 10 things.... If you guys want a sump presentation in the future, I can come down for that.
  12. DFWMAS is hosting its one day conference again. This is our 6th conference, and we are very excited. We have 5 speakers lined up, and will have vendors present as well to sell their wares. The location is at a country club, so it'll be a very pleasant venue. The raffle prizes includes a grand prize: A trip to Atlanta GA for MACNA XX (flight, hotel & admission). If you'd like to attend, the price is a mere $35, plus $10 for lunch. The price goes up on Dec 1, so you have a few days to sign up. All the details are here: http://www.dfwmas.org/nextwave2008/registration.html
  13. If you can meet consistently, that will be a huge draw for those wanting to find a local club. I noticed one person posting in the Tank Tour thread that they look forward to being able to attend the next one. You guys should put your heads together and try to organize another one. Clubs grow where activity is present. You've got a number of good members that would make a good core group to build upon.
  14. Rich, that is a great meeting recap. When in the next one? Did y'all meet in September, or was MACNA keeping y'all busy and out of town?
