Switching to Metal Halides

Leave Comment
I recently decided to switch to Metal Halide Lamps.
I currently have a 72 inch constalation T5 lamp. I am happy with the colors, but the growth is not what I want.

Prof is building me a light box (open top fake canopy)

I had the week off so I got brave and made a light rail to hold the 2-250w MH and 1 400w lamp along with T5 for
supplimentation.

I built it out of 1/20th thick 3/4 inch aluminum L stock.

Here are photos of the project.

This is how the reflectors will sit inside the rail. The rail will be mounted in the light box

The hardest part of the project was getting the little wires in the retro kit and getting the light to fire up
3 hours later - let there be light.

Everything all bundled up.

I will post pictures of the rail in the light box once finished.
